They are not Win/Lose events where speakers are assigned a position. Instead, speakers express their authentic, truthful opinions, and people listen to better understand the perspective being expressed.
They are not 1:1. Each debate kicks off with four speakers, alternating between a speaker for the resolution and a speaker against. Each initial speaker has four minutes to speak.Once the first four speakers are done, we continue alternating speakers - volunteers from the audience - throughout the two hours.
The audience also participates by asking questions. Participants ask questions of each speaker - respectful, clarifying questions, meant to deepen understanding.
No! Attendees can speak, ask questions or simply listen. When you register, you'll be asked your preference (you can always change your mind and decide to speak or ask a question, of course!)
