On the very stormy evening of June 2, the Braver Angels Southern Front Range Alliance and Reclaiming Civility kicked off their transformative summer series, designed to bring Colorado Springs residents together for civil dialogue and constructive conversation, at Library21c in Colorado Springs. At “Crossing the Continental Divide”, participants experienced firsthand the power of respectful conversation through engaging exercises and one-on-one exchanges inspired by Braver Angels workshops.
This event set the tone for a season dedicated to bridging divides and strengthening community ties. The series will feature interactive workshops and community debates on the third Saturday of June, July, and August.
Sandra Brownrigg, co-chair of the Braver Angels Southern Front Range Alliance, emphasized the importance of these efforts in today’s climate:
“This is a particularly divisive moment for our area, and many people are searching for ways to have constructive conversations on important topics. We want Colorado Springs to know their local Braver Angels alliance offers free, well-moderated, interactive civil dialogue workshops and community debates where everyone can be heard and respected. I’m especially grateful to Reclaiming Civility for their partnership and to Will Robinson, our Braver Angels Ambassador, for setting the tone so well for meaningful exchanges tonight.”
The summer series, open to all, aims to foster understanding, respect, and unity in the community. More information in the links below:
