Alliance Events

Upcoming events hosted by our Alliance and the National Organization

A novel way for Americans with different backgrounds to connect as people and as citizens who are concerned for our country.

The process involves one or two hour-long conversations between two people using a structured conversation guide. The goals are to better understand the experiences, feelings, and beliefs of the other person, discover any areas of commonality, and share ideas for how to bridge differences across our country.

These professional level courses have been crafted by experts in communications and depolarization. They provide an effective and “safe” way to interact with people in difficult situations. These courses can be taken stand-alone, before a workshop, or after a workshop. Each course takes approximately 40 minutes to complete.

Join us for a Braver Angels forum where mental health professionals from across the political spectrum gather online to connect and provide information and support to one another for working with clients who have diverse views on politics and social issues. Meetings are held on the third Friday of the month from 4:00 - 5:30 PM Eastern (1:00 - 2:30 PM Pacific)

National Debate: Healthcare
Thursday, November 14 · 6 - 8pm MST

Is healthcare a human right? US healthcare can be mediocre, poor, good, or the best in the world, depending on wealth and circumstances. Most of us have personal stories when it comes to receiving medical care in our country – sometimes of success, but also frequently of distress and struggle. Those stories are not in the least immune to our politics. Be it in the requirements of the Affordable Care Act, interactions with Medicare or Medicaid, delays, red tape, or any other number of things, there are many political questions related to medical care in the U.S. Intertwined with each of them is the broader question that faces us in this debate: “Is healthcare a human right?” As there is no shortage of complexity in healthcare, there is no shortage of viewpoints on that question.

This election season, Braver Angels is doing something no one has ever done before: We’re sending Red and Blue voters to polling places across the United States to show Americans, no matter who we’re voting for, we can—and must—get along.

With around 100,000 polling sites across America, it’s easy to take part. Grab a friend from across the political aisle or a relative you always fight with at Thanksgiving, and head down the street to the polls so that we can share this message of hope.

Don’t have a pair already or want to meet someone new? We’ll work on finding you a match! Just sign up and we’ll work on the rest.

Tuesday, November 5th, 6pm MST
On Election Night, tune in to see how Braver Angels is engaging with the election all across America. Our hosts Gabbi Timmis and John Wood Jr. will bring on leaders that showcase the breadth of our movement.

Our steering committee meets the first Thursday of every month via Zoom. If you’re interested in learning more about Braver Angels - whether you want to get involved yourself; you’re part of an organization that may be a good fit for Braver Network; or you’re already a Braver Angel and you want to explore leadership opportunities, get in touch. Tell us a little bit about yourself, your skills, and why and how you’re interested in Braver Angels.

We hold regular small-group discussions at local establishments. Join us for one or more!
