Southern Front Range Alliance - 2024 in Review

2024 was a year of robust engagement for the Southern Front Range Alliance - below are some highlights.

Throughout 2024 - Civil Discourse Series

In May, June, August and September, the Southern Front Range Alliance conducted a series of Civil Discourse sessions in which balanced groups of red and blue participants gathered to discuss contentious issues, earnestly and politely. Of particular interest was the September instance, which focused on the 2024 election. In discussion we witnessed broad agreement across political leanings with regard to the challenges of promoting honesty and addressing divisiveness and governmental/political dysfunction. It is understandable that there would be common ground in this area, given the mission of Braver Angels. What was especially remarkable was the goodwill and evenhandedness with which participants engaged on these issues.

Annual Picnic

In July, the Southern Front Range Alliance held its second annual picnic, this time at the Palmer Lake Pavillion. In addition to relaxing in one another’s company, the Southern Front Range Alliance took this opportunity to hold another instance of Civil Discourse.

Bridging the Political Divide

In October, the Southern Front Range Alliance made a robust showing at a remarkable event titled Bridging the Political Divide, which the Greenberg Center for Learning and Tolerance produced on the campus of the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. The alliance was a featured guest and made valuable connections with other individual and organizational attendees.

2024 Braver Angels National Convention

In July, the Southern Front Range Alliance sent a robust delegation to the Fourth Annual Braver Angels National Convention, in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The theme of the convention was American Hope. Several members of the Colorado Front Range Alliance participated in a variety of workshops and breakout sessions. Notable activities included a bipartisan watch party for the first presidential debate.

Being Red in a Blue Environment

In March, the Southern Front Range Alliance produced Being Red in a Blue Environment. Targeted toward conservative and moderate Braver Angels, this online workshop assisted participants through such topics as:
